The Election Commission of India has responded to the INDIA bloc’s protest in Delhi, saying the Opposition’s request for a meeting outside the Commission’s headquarters was unusual and could not be accepted under established procedures.

According to the Commission, the request for a meeting in a location outside its premises did not follow the normal process. It said such a demand could not be accommodated under existing procedures.

The response came after the INDIA bloc, including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, sought a meeting amid its protest in the national capital. The matter remains a point of political contention.
