A slew of events is planned this year to mark the centenary of renowned physician K.V. Thiruvengadam, in recognition of his lasting impact on medicine in Chennai and beyond.

The celebrations will focus on reviving core values of medical practice, including listening carefully to patients, examining them at the bedside and thinking before ordering tests.

The programme will also reflect on a larger question raised by his legacy: what it means to be a good physician in an era of extraordinary technology.
