Former Indian Institute of Science (IISc) director P. Balram said new scientific studies should be guided by previous research to achieve better results.
Speaking on the importance of scientific progress, the former IISc chief said research efforts should build on existing work rather than start in isolation.
He said using earlier findings as a foundation can improve the quality and effectiveness of new studies.
