Student and youth groups on Tuesday said they would continue their protest and return the next day, demanding the rollback of the SIR and the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The groups, including CJP and Left student organisations, alleged that authorities had cracked down on protesters. They said the protest would continue until their demands are met.
The organisations have not announced any change in their stand, and the protest remains ongoing. According to their statements, they plan to gather again tomorrow.
