The northeast monsoon is likely to set in around October 17 or 18, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has said.
According to the RMC, temperatures across the State are expected to gradually fall after October 16 as moisture incursion and cloud cover begin to increase.
The weather office indicated that the change in conditions is consistent with the approach of the northeast monsoon, which brings a seasonal shift in weather across the region.
