A Kashmir-based civil society group has warned that the new “Ease of doing Business” rules in Jammu and Kashmir could have serious consequences for residential areas, the environment and public welfare.
The group said the rules were likely to weaken regulatory oversight and threaten the region’s fragile environment, planned urban development and public welfare.
It said the policy could disrupt residential neighbourhoods and undermine orderly growth in the Union Territory, though no specific changes or incidents were cited in the statement.
