Hyderabad’s new common mobility pass, priced at ₹8,500 a month, has failed to impress many commuters. The pass offers unlimited travel on Metro Rail and RTC buses within the Outer Ring Road limits.
However, it does not include MMTS services or last-mile connectivity, which commuters say limits its usefulness. They have said affordable fares, better feeder services and stronger coordination among transport agencies are needed for seamless travel.
The concerns have put the spotlight on the challenge of building an integrated public transport system in the city. Commuters say the pass may be a step forward, but it does not yet deliver the convenience many were hoping for.
