New Delhi: The Delhi Police detained several leaders associated with the Commonwealth Journalists’ Platform (CJP) ahead of a planned protest in the capital on Sunday.
According to a statement issued by the CJP, those detained included Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka and Ratna Singh. The organisation described the move as a “pre-planned interception” aimed at preventing the leadership from reaching the protest site.
The protest was described by the CJP as peaceful. No further details were immediately available on the reason for the detention or the current status of the detained individuals.
