The World Health Organization has warned against the use of obesity drugs for children under 10, saying long-term evidence on their safety and effectiveness remains limited.
Instead, the WHO strongly recommends that young children adopt structured diet and exercise routines as the primary approach to managing weight-related concerns.
The guidance, shared in the context of childhood obesity management, underscores a preference for lifestyle-based interventions while more data is needed on drug treatments for very young children.
