Investigators have seized a huge quantity of Public Distribution System (PDS) rice in a crackdown after a probe into its movement through a Karnataka-based trader.
According to the investigation, Mandya-based Annapurneshwari Enterprises had purchased rice from a local FCI godown and later sold it to Madhya Pradesh-based Sailar Exports Ltd.
The rice was reportedly meant to be shipped out of Chennai. Further investigation into the alleged diversion is under way.
