A recent survey has found that 13% of respondents experienced cybercrime in the past two to three years, with digital financial fraud accounting for 54% of the cases reported by victims.
According to the findings, most victims approached their banks within 24 hours of noticing the fraud. However, many said they faced delays in blocking unauthorised transactions, along with poor support from bank staff.
Victims and experts also raised concerns about banks’ reluctance to accept liability in such cases. The findings point to continued challenges in handling cyber fraud complaints and recovering lost money.
