West Bengal Chief Minister Adhikari announced that the state government will provide ₹1.8 lakh in assistance for houses that were fully damaged in flood-hit Malda. He made the announcement while speaking at a flood-relief distribution programme in Raghunathpur.
Adhikari also said that the government has tasked IIT-Kanpur with preparing a detailed project report (DPR) for a permanent flood solution in Malda. The move is aimed at finding a long-term answer to the recurring flood problem in the district.
