About 72 lakh teachers across the country have been trained to use technology to help identify students with disabilities, according to the information provided. The initiative is aimed at improving early detection and support in schools.
Teachers will use a digital screening tool this month to observe and record visible behaviours that may indicate a disability. After this initial screening, special educators will assess the students and classify them under 21 disability categories.
Officials said the move is intended to support early intervention and strengthen inclusive education. The effort is expected to help schools identify children who may need additional assistance at an earlier stage.
